saphena is energy. Metalcore, which moves apart from usual schemes. Aggression and emotion expressed in German lyrics. Music for the second view. saphena challenges.

In 2000, the five guys from Chemnitz/ Germany formed the band. Until 2005 it was called BRAIN[FAQ]. The EP "brainstorming" (2001) and the album "Nutze die Zeit" (2002) brought some attention. 2000 copies sold. More than 100 shows were played in Germany and Europe. Supporting "4lyn" and playing Festivals with e.g. "such a surge" have been among them.

A European tour in 2002 was followed by a UK tour in 2006.

The band grew and developed in creating its own sound. In summer 2005 the album "Das Leben wird zu Glas" was recorded in Stuttgart/ Germany (Tin Roof Studios). Released as the first one under the new name "saphena" in November 2005 on whirlwind records.
